I wish I had had more time to put together a work for the contest that more specifically addressed some of the issues that the contest raises; “Business As Usual” does that indirectly, but the unintentional ways in which the contest comments on the nature of democracy in western cultures are so numerous it’s really tempting to believe that it’s intentional (but of course it isn’t).
My friend Margie went to vote in this second round and found that the Website was claiming that she had already voted, and that she had given me an 8 instead of the 10 she gave me in the first round! No paper trail – does that sound familiar?
If I win this round (I’m currently lagging behind by a few decimal points) I’ll go into another round in about 6 months which will give me time to prepare a more pointed campaign.
