He's a sort of phlegmatic guy who stays cool when the going gets rough. But all I could think of as he recounted this experience was, does he think this is just television? In retrospect, he doesn't. It's just his way of taking in stressful information. None the less, we are all inured to reality by the daily televised and interneted bombardments of disaster--perhaps it's training so we stay cool when the big one comes (should we get the opportunity to exercise our survival skills).
