wow, i just finished wacthign that very beautiful movie, at TV5, congartulation for all crew, artist, and of course i got very intersted for a big artist “Seraphine Louis”

This film is beautiful every frame of it is like a painting – the woman playing Seraphine is truly beautiful in herself and her presence on screen – I loved every moment of it – long yes but gorgeous – I will buy the dvd to have at home for thise colourless days when I need reminding that art flourishes in modest places as well as grand ones an uplifting movie

We just saw this movie at the Portland, Me. Museum of Art. The acting was superb and the story totally absorbed you in the life of this artist. A true masterpiece that should not be missed. Uplifting and tragicaly sad at the same time.

I liked it start to finish. I guess because it was so lush I loved it visually. And because it was so quiet, slow-paced and un-Hollywood I quieted down and relaxed into it. Probably most movies could use some shortening but this didn’t seem overlong to me.

The idea of this film is good, but it is much too long. This artist had a very simple life, so there isn’t much material to work with. To stretch it out to two hours was grueling. Moreau is excellent and the cinematography exciting, but two hours?
