Yikes, this post was a misspelling nightmare. We spelled Don Colley’s name throughout Dan Colley and spelled John Ollman’s name wrong too. All fixed now. Very sorry.

On second thought, sounds like Berth. I thought maybe this was from…other precincts, but I don’t see the word frenz, plus she’s speaking in complete sentences and sounds perfectly sane.

You’re assuming Berth Heiny is really the same individual who has used that name in the past, which she may not be. There’s been a lot of pseudonym appropriation going on in the past week on Philly oriented art blogs.

I agree I am shooting my mouth off. I am passionate about the art community, which is why I may critique so harshly at times. Another reason why I might do so is because of the lack of criticism within the art community to begin with…and if you care, you should listen. Agree with me or not, but listen. I’m open to say I as I did, stay open. I certainly do feel curating has very much to do with content and communicating with others around you. Maybe by being so severe you might feel challenged? It’s not uncommon for a space to have a friends show in the beginning, but not so common they get featured in the press. I did see the show….nice chair.

Whoa Berth. Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder. Way to bring your public personal attack under the cover of a handle on an art blog. Terrible. In a small art community, such as Philadelphia, shouldn’t everyone try to build the scene up, instead of backhandedly tearing each other down? I was AT the opening, and thought it was a clean and unique gallery space. Why shouldn’t a community of friends unite for a show? What is the “value” you speak of? Objective praise? I pity your self serving negativity and wish you the best in your endeavors. Burning bridges in the local art community will obviously do wonders for your “career”, which I am assuming is flourishing.
