Philadelphia’s job market was no friend to Angel O when she graduated from Moore College almost two years ago. We tracked her down living with her family in Harrisburg, working at a nut store, and writing screen plays. O has a great sense of humor–about Harrisburg’s art scene, her so-called life as an artist and her job hunt. Below is a brief sample from the interview and following that, the full 10-minute interview.

Angel O brought nuts to us all the way from Harrisburg, where she works at The Virginia Nut Shop. Yum. Find them on Yelp, http://www.yelp.com/biz/virginia-nut-shop-new-cumberland

  1. Blair Stover says:

Glad to see she has a great outlook on life. I hope she finds a job in her field – I’m sure she’ll excel! Good luck!

  2. Angel,

Shoot me an email and I’ll tell you all about how I started New Wilmington Art Association. Fractured Atlas is a great organization to look into as well. Do you know any Pennsylvania State Representatives? I think there’s 3 Democrats still working in the capital building you may want to help you start a cool economic development art space.

  3. libby says:

    Hey Angel O,
I used to live near the virginia nut shop too! Please put me on an events list if you get things going in Harrisburg, I go there frequently from Philadelphia. And also let me know when the red pistachios go on sale.

  6. angel o says:

    hey andrew,

sure, i’ll do that when things work out. i’d let you know but the nuts never go on sale. haha sorry.

  7. Lee says:

Angel O has such a great outlook on life. Most people don´t understand that choosing the path marked “ARTIST” in life is one of the hardest choices to make (except you don´t realize this until 10 or 20 or 30 years along the road). Bravo
