Tim Eads began his art career as a graphic designer.  He worked for several years in that field before he went back to school for his teaching certificate and taught for several years in secondary and high schools. Then he got hisMFA from Cranbrook and afterwards moved to Philadelphia where he settled in, making art, which has been shown all over town at alternative spaces and commercial galleries.  Right now you can see his Taxonomy of Trash project at DCCA in Wilmington and a small selection from that project at Pentimenti Gallery.  Tim also has some commissioned work in Philadelphia including the recently-installed, welded steel benches at the Little Berlin Fairgrounds and a sound sculpture at Please Touch Museum.  His work is included in the West Collection. Tim has lots of benchmarks of success and in this podcast he talks about how he defines success and why he makes art. We met Tim in his North Philadelphia studio on April 23. Check out Tim’s website with lots of images of his projects. And see Roberta’s Flickr set for images from our interview.
