Andria Bibiloni’s Blaster Bike at FLUX Of the 10 Philadelphia arts organizations receiving a total of $5.3 million from the Wallace Foundation to attract a bigger audience, visual arts, which is red hot in Philadelphia right now, got two of the grants (see article in Philadelphia Inquirer). To be specific, Fleisher Art Memorial will receive $320,000 over four years, and the Clay Studio will receive $375,000 over four years. Of the other organizations, only the Fringe Festival, at $365,000, received in this relatively low dollar range. The sofa at the end of the hallway is a video projection that’s part of a larger installation by John Lightfoot Greiner I didn’t take off my shoes when I saw the sand. It covers the floor of a long, narrowing hallway that ends in a pink/lavendar glow of light, in one of John Lightfoot Greiner’s installation at Flux Space. Down where the glowing is, a sharp left turn reveals a sofa projected on the wall, bouncing up and down. by Jen Packer We both had a great time last semester teaching a senior painting studio class at Tyler. The students were great, and sooo interesting and talented. So when some of them let us know they were having amazingly brief exhibits to mark the end of their BFA, Roberta went to see part of the group, and I went to see another part.
