News   As promised, details on the benefit for Todd Marrone‘s family have been solidified. UsedWigs Radio, where a giant part of Todd’s creative life was spent, is hosting an event on Sunday evening, April 13, 2014 at L’etage on South Street. Bringing together comedians Dave Hill and Chip Chantry, storytellers Anna Goldfarb, Shrake, Nikki Walter and Kevin Ginsberg, performances by Brian Seymour and Bevan McShea, everything involved promises a special memorial: each component of the evening is either something Todd loved or recreations of his musings on life, read by friends and family. News and Ops: Norway->NYC, Red Scare lecture, Philly Photo day, and more

News Norway in NYC Following our last news post about Milwaukee in New York, now you can catch a piece of Norway too!  NORWAY NOW in NYC opens at .NO Gallery at 253 E. Houston on Sept. 7.  The multimedia exhibit mirrors Oslo’s annual juried art exhibition Høstutstillingen. The New York show had almost 600 submissions, but the jurors Koan Jeff Baysa and Omar Lopez-Chahoud narrowed it down to six artists. Opening reception is September 7 from 6 – 10 PM and the show runs until October 2.

I learned this from my friend Stefanie Taylor’s friend Bonnie Gottlieb. She’s a docent, and she took us–Stefanie, Paul, Murray and me–on our own private tour of both the Contemporary and traditional African art at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art.
