Nick Cassway’s show of portraits of friends at JOG gallery has the immediacy of the snapshots that people post on the internet–unselfconscious, overindulgent, light-hearted and intimate. These are images that our ancestors eschewed–not that they didn’t do these things, but they didn’t parade their behavior in public or preserve the carefree moments for posterity.

I’m sorry I didn’t get this up before Nick Cassway’s radio show, Xavier Cougat and Friends at a Cocktail Party (Dec. 12, 3-6 pm). I’m sure it was a smashing success and I hope everyone in the vicinity of the Crane Building tunes in to 1650 AM to hear what else is coming between now and Feb 6. We stop and shop for Yummy
Nick Cassway, Nexus Executive Director, gets a hug from Whole Foods shopper Elyse yesterday at the Nexus 5% fundraiser at the store. We–Roberta, her daughter Stella, and I–shopped at Whole Foods yesterday to help support the combo catalog-cookbook for Nexus’ upcoming Yummy show. Five percent of all store receipts from yesterday will be directed towards Yummy, which opens December 2007 and runs through January 2008.
