Artblog cares deeply about Philadelphia's vibrant community of artists, writers and makers. If you're reading this, then so do you. And we're asking for your help.

In the face of this unprecedented time, we are committed to continuing our support of our staff and contributors — independent critics, comic and cartoonists, illustrators, writers, administrators, organizers — our city's visionaries — by paying them for the work they do.

We need you now to meet our goal of raising $6,000 by June 1, 2020.

You'll help sustain the Artblog during this transition, with projects like The Artists in the Time of Coronavirus, a new Artblog series that gives artists a platform to express themselves, find solace, encouragement and unity in the face of uncertainty. In supporting us today, you help build not only our future, but theirs.

Our Value Is Proven

  • Digital archives value our site. University of Pennsylvania is archiving Artblog's 16 years of coverage of Philadelphia art, making it available in its free online public archive.
  • Reader testimonials applaud our Inclusiveness, independence and thoughtful content.
  • Foundations select us for grants. Knight Foundation, J-Lab/William Penn, Samuel Fels Fund, Phantasos and other private foundations awarded Artblog grants.
  • National arts influencers say we are excellent. Art in America cited us twice; we were finalists for Warhol-Creative Capital Arts Writing Program.
  • We create jobs and pay our writers, editors and staff. Artblog is a small business that contributes to the economic growth of Philadelphia's art sector.
  • We are tech-savvy leaders. In 2015—ahead of other leading online art publications, Artblog became mobile responsive to serve readers who reach us via mobile devices.

We are committed to maintaining the excellence of Artblog's content, design and technology going forward. Your contribution helps us grow our leadership team and manage daily operations of our award-winning publication.

The Artblog COVID-19 Appeal is open now until June 1, 2020.

As COVID-19 results in the loss or postponement of countless exhibition opportunities, artists are looking for ways to continue to share their art. Philadelphia-based Artblog is answering the call with "Artists in the Time of Coronavirus," an open call, non-juried, first-come, first-served online exhibition. Two Moore seniors, Nina Valdera '20 and Kenyssa Evans '20, are featured in the first post of philly artblog's exhibition series, where they discuss how COVID-19 has affected their plans, as well as their current works in progress.
