Report from under I-95: Wet but wild

For the first time, I came home empty-handed from Zoe Strauss’ Under I-95 photo exhibit today, her spring bouquet to South Philadelphia in South Philadelphia, now in its ninth year, with one more year to go. What a crowd!!! They beat me to the punch on all the pictures I was trying to snag. It was a sure sign of success. Maybe Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Karen Heller brought more folks out–nothing like mainstream media. Here’s the link but it will be gone in six months. Or maybe it was the rain. Can’t work in the garden or paint the house; might as well go see some art!!! The real reason, of course, is Zoe and her photos.

Yo, Mark, I told you not to carry that personal fog cloud around with you. Were you there early? We all came on the late side. I looked around a lot, and didn’t see so many art people. But what a lot of folks who I didn’t know. And maybe 10 who I did know but didn’t recognize, since that’s my way. Amazing.
There’s no saying how many nice people and how many criminals were wandering around looking at Zoe’s photos. Brent, you win the Boy Detective Award for finding that one (the Internet will out everyone for one thing or another sooner or later). I think you have a future in investigations. I’m trying to figure out when Zoe will rise up from under the giant pile of work she now has before I send my order of must-have images.
I’d say a 50/50 mix of nice people and criminals.

Aaah, we’re calling out nothing but the truth here, guys. I say it’s a sure sign of success to attract so many criminals–even in the rain!!!! Otherwise, you can’t even give it away. Love ya back!!!! Love your mom, too. She’s amazing!!!!
