News The art and airplane trend We’ve told you  before about Jordan Griska’s “Grumman Greenhouse“, the repurposed submarine bomber turned sculpture/community greenhouse that was recently installed in Lenfest Plaza. Well artist Matthew Day Jackson also has part of a plane – the cockpit of a B-29 – on display in London as part of his exhibit at Hauser & Wirth. The piece is entitled “Axis Mundi”, and while it is cool, it isn’t a greenhouse, so we think Griska wins this round.

The Return of Liberta–awards for 2009

2009 is the year artblog had its sixth birthday and graduated to a WordPress design and a real logo and new maps and listings!  Liberta made it to the Miami art fairs this year for the first time.  Loved it, won’t be going back — we’ll take Manhattan. Volta New York is still our favorite art fair.   This also was the year Liberta realized some people hate her. Frankly we don’t give a damn and will carry on as if everybody loved us. Hey we love everybody almost.

Techno wonders from Delaware

In a show that should attract all the techno-art hackers out there, the University of Delaware faculty show themselves able to out-techno the technologists. Feats of tech derring-do abound in video and mechanical and electronic wizardry. Things growl and click at you in this show and the art doesn’t stand still. Neither do you as it surrounds you in some surprising ways.
