PAFA, Penn students strut their stuff this weekend

This year’s crop of graduating students at PAFA and Penn are starting things earlier than ever. Both schools have soirees this Friday, Feb. 8 to see their work in advance of Spring’s MFA and undergrad student shows. Mark McQuilling, art teacher, Northeast High, at Rocket Cat Cafe last month After I wrote an post on the need for art education and how the school district was cutting the Mural Arts Program contract with the schools, Mark McQuilling who teaches art at Northeast High wrote and introduced himself. Year Three of the Cooke Museum of Art

This is the third year for the Cooke Museum of Art at Jay Cooke Elementary School. Just off North Broad Street in the Logan section, the school’s Museum of Art is a project organized by Diane Pieri who also works with Cooke students as an artist in residence through the PMA’s Art Partners Program. Pieri works closely with the school’s art teacher to do the project.
