You have a friend in City Hall, artists. The guy in the white hat, Gary Steuer, tries to cut through red tape, to make art accessible, and to fight City Hall over unreasonable taxes on low income businesses of the sorts artists (and bloggers) have. Surprisingly enough, given city finances and his teeny baby budget, somehow he succeeds. That’s what he told us, and we believe him.

Gary Steuer’s City Hall office is opens to the City Hall art gallery, which is accessible to the public.

This episode is edited by Peter Crimmins. The music is by Eric Biondo. Thanks to the Knight Foundation for helping us get the ball rolling on this project. Thanks also to J-Lab‘s Enterprise Reporting Fund and William Penn Foundation for additional support and to our partner WHYY NewsWorks for their ongoing support.
