  • Wharton alumnus Marc J. Leder endows a Directorship of Curatorial Affairs at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) with a $1 million gift. Robert Chaney, who holds the position now, will be the Marc J. Leder Director of Curatorial Affairs.
  • ICA has a new registrar, Kate Abercrombie, and new Digital Content Editor, Ali Mohsen.
  • Plus, they tweaked their website, and made it more user friendly – yay!  Congratulations, to all!

Main Line Art Center open call for Meyer Family Award, a cash award and solo exhibition – DEADLINE Oct. 9, 2018

The Meyer Family Award for Contemporary Art, presented by Main Line Art Center in conjunction with the Betsy Meyer Memorial Exhibition, consists of an award of $1000 and a solo exhibition to each selected artist. Approximately three artists are selected annually to receive the award and present a solo show. This award and associated exhibition program is an effort to support the talented contemporary artists in the Mid-Atlantic Region, to honor deserving artists in the field, and to encourage excellence and experimentation in artistic practice, presentation, and community involvement. Winners are selected by Main Line Art Center’s Board of Artistic Advisers. Adult fine artists, who are not full-time students, living in the Mid-Atlantic Region are eligible to apply. All mediums are welcome. The application deadline is October 9, 2018. Artists selected to receive the award will be notified in January 2019 and the exhibition will take place in March/April 2019.
