Apply Now! Artblog Contest for Emerging Writers is ON

Artblog is excited to announce the 2018 New Art Writers Contest – a FREE contest that supports emerging writers who are passionate about the arts in Philadelphia. Artblog, an independent online publication started by two artists in 2003, introduced the contest to get more people talking, writing and thinking about local art. Apply today!

2018 is the fourth year for the art writing contest, and this year, Artblog has a special prize fund created by a generous 3-year matching grant from Mari Shaw. We are matching that challenge grant with donations from Artblog supporters. (Click “SUPPORT” to contribute!) This crucial support of our Contest allows us to award a significant grand prize of $1,000 cash to one deserving emerging writer, and two honorable mention cash prizes of $250 each.  We will also publish an anthology in print of “The Best of The New Art Writers Contest.”

New and emerging writers! Take up your pens, pencils and computer keyboards and write about the arts in Philadelphia! Submit your entries to Artblog’s New Writers Contest. Submissions are due Midnight, Oct. 31, 2018. If you are unsure whether you should submit to the Contest, send an email to hello@theartblog.org with your question and we will answer.
