Artist activist Conrad Benner talks about the origin of his popular and influential Streets Department blog

Artblog's very first live podcast recording took place June 20 at the amazing Tattooed Mom on South Street, with Wit López talking with Conrad Benner of StreetsDept.com. The two cover everything from the virus mono to the Dilworth Park Starbucks. Super special shout out to Tattooed Mom for their generosity and support with this event, and to Peter Crimmins for his tech advice and crucial bit of equipment!

On Thursday, June 20th, Artblog hosted it’s very first episode of “LIVE with Artblog Radio” at Tattooed Mom. Here, you can listen to the live podcast recording, where Wit López interviews Conrad Benner of Streets Dept (streetsdept.com, @streetsdept). Tune in to learn how a bad case of mono led to the invention of Philly’s own (extremely successful) streets art blog, and learn about Conrad’s curatorial and political involvement in our local community!

The event also included fabulous live performances by Jacob Chris Hammes, Levi Bentley, Candy Alexandria González, Alex Smith, and Michael Delgado. Super special shout out to the folks at Tattooed Mom who showed us endless generosity and hospitality both before, after, and during the event!

ARTBLOG RADIO is now available on Apple (iTunes and Apple Podcasts) and Spotify, and available via RSS. This podcast was recorded and edited by Morgan Nitz.
