Dear Friend of Artblog,

Artblog is actively “Zooming” into our 19th year, in 2022! You’ve been there with us and are a big part of Artblog’s success. You love the arts and value our discussions. And we are thankful for your support. In 2022, we hope to involve you more, with public programming like live podcasts and more – stay tuned!

Artblog got through the second pandemic year of 2021, and we are eager to launch 2022 with our return to in-world programming. Artblog’s programs and commentary are crucial especially now, at a time with shrinking arts coverage in Philadelphia! But we are short staffed, having had to let one of our staff go in 2020. You have been generous in the past, and we are hoping you will step up and make a contribution now that helps us lead the discussion about the future of the arts in Philadelphia. It’s an important discussion to have, and Artblog is the place to have it as we all return to the world after the pandemic. What will our future look like? What should it look like?

Your donation today will help Artblog continue to do our work; your donation today supports the art community in Philadelphia! Artblog is the inclusive and accessible place for everyone’s ideas about the future of Philadelphia arts and culture. Together, we will work to highlight the importance of the arts in Philadelphia and foster greater inclusivity and accessibility. With your donation today, you help Artblog kick start this important discussion about our future. Thank You!

With love and gratitude,
Roberta and Morgan

What People Say

The thread of consistency that you have had through so many different versions of Philadelphia and all the art spaces, DIY and commercial...I really feel very thankful and indebted to how attentive you are to everything that's going on. So, truly, thank you.

— Will Owen, Philadelphia artist, Member, Little Berlin

There is nothing like it in the area to learn about what exhibitions are "must see" in Philadelphia.

— Judy Herman, Emeritus Director of the Main Line Art Center

Thanks for your long term project which has been such a generous resource for Philly's art community.

— Jennifer Johnson, Tyler MFA 2016

Artblog is a voice of what's happening in the city at this moment.

— Rob Blackson, Director, Temple Contemporary

Cities of the 21st Century are for the creation of culture. And I think it's playing out here. The Artblog is right on top of that, and I value it for that.

— Nathaniel Popkin, author, Co-editor, Hidden City Daily

Art can be difficult at times; art can be challenging. Artblog writes in a manner that tries to make it accessible to a lot of people.

— Dave Kyu, artist, writer and project manager

Artblog's two major strengths are its inclusiveness and independence. Because of that inclusiveness and independence the organization can exist as an inviting and open "neutral territory" amidst a cultural landscape that is fragmented and partitioned by school affiliation, artistic difference, generation, and especially the heinous forms of social stratification that disenfranchise communities along racial, cultural, and socio-economic lines.

— Gee Wesley, Co-founder, Ulises Bookshop, Program Director, Recess

I think what I really, really, really love about Artblog is that it considers everything… What Artblog does is the universe of the arts in Philadelphia

— Thora Jacobson, Executive Director, Philadelphia Art Alliance

I go to a lot of things and see a lot of things. I can't see everything, so I can find out about things I'm missing by going to the Artblog.

— Sarah McEneaney, artist, Philadelphia

More About Artblog

Working as a team of writers and editors, Artblog connects the public with art through its writings, available in our almost daily postings and in our 17-year archive. We also connect the public and art with our Art Safari tours of galleries and artist studios and our writing workshops. Our annual art writing contest, now in its third year, discovers new writers in the community and works with them to deliver excellent new coverage on Artblog. We are committed to a diverse set of writers covering the diverse landscape of Philadelphia arts. We are steering the discussion about today's important topics.
