Our favorite Philly collective with street chops and massive ties to Fort Thunder and Shephard Fairey, Space 1026, is opening a room-wrapping installation of made-on-the-spot screenprints and other hand-made stuff at BravinLee Programs this week. The show opens Friday, July 20, 6-8 pm and runs to Aug. 17. The gallery set up a flickr site with installation shots of the group at work, and there’s a blog with one entry. The gallery space looks like a challenge for the Space (ie, small. This is a group at home in humungous spaces like the ICA, Yerba Buena Center etc).

Ha! I ran into Tamara and her husband at an opening on Saturday night and she told me about this piece. It looks great.

awesome! a flickr friend said he picked up a Rembrand’t butcher shop vibe from Tamara’s piece which I thought was a really nice context.
