Fare at the NY art fairs – the Armory

We know we missed some of the Armory — for starters, we never made it to Pier 92, the Modern section. And while it seems like we saw tons of art we fear we missed some at Pier 94 where the Armory Contemporary was. Carrumba.

Ben Peterson, Part 2

[See Part 1 of this studio visit.] I asked Ben Peterson about California Ten a monumental work that was pinned to the wall when I visited his studio a month ago. (The piece went to Dusseldorf as part of Ratio 3′s booth in the First Dusseldorf Art Fair.) Peterson said that the structure is loosely modeled on a Spanish galleon and the house is based on a Spanish-style house. Ben Peterson has a Philly moment, Part 1

I visited Ben Peterson, former Bay area artist now living in Philadelphia, about a month ago. And before the blooms are off the dogwoods I want to let you know about this great artist addition to Philadelphia. Ben Peterson, in his studio, standing in front of the angled wall he draws on. Ben and his girlfriend, Katharine Karnaky, moved here so she could attend graduate school in Textile Design at Philadelphia University.
