Seductive Subversion: Women of Pop at UArts

Some great Pop artists who have fallen off the art historical map are now on view in the exhibit Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists 1958-1968, at the University of the Arts.

Women and Pop #3

The newest installment of the Women and Pop series is up! Sarah Wilson, art historian from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, speaks about the position of female artists during the formative years of Pop Art (the 1960s). The issues haven’t changed all that much. The art visuals are sparse, but they are great when they do finally appear. Seeing men in suits approaching the Niki de Saint Phalle uber woman, Hon, with the walk-in vagina, is worth the wait.
