Yesterday was a riotous day with downpours succeeded by sun and sprinkles, all brought in on a fierce wind and exotically-gorgeous clouds of all sizes and descriptions.
You knew there would be a rainbow and sure enough at around 6 pm it appeared in the Eastern sky, a magnificent arc that touched down from one side of center city to the other giving Philly the Emerald City look for once in its life. I was on a moving bus and took this one lousy picture.
The rainbow was a double for a short time and as usual the whole celestial performance was over in an augenblick.
