I just read that tonight is a fundraiser for major medical expenses to help Venezuelan-born artist/mural artist Jose Ali Paz, who has brain cancer. It’s a little late for this, but I’m putting it out there just in case you can get there between 6 to 10 at Concilio on Franklin Street near 7th. The cost is $20 at the door, or $45 with a poster of Paz’s paintings. The info came from the Daily News, which also said you can donate money even if you can’t make the event. Send a check to Taller Puertorriqueno Inc and specify to the “Jose Ali Paz Fund” in the memo line. Mail it to Taller Puertorriqueno, 2721 N. 5th St., Philadelphia, PA 19133.
