Barnes gets it

Oh, you blogosphere mutterers who doubted that the Barnes would ever raise the money it needed for its move to Center City Philadelphia, listen up. Today’s Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the foundation’s fundraising campaign achieved its goal of $150 million to build on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and to increase its endowment.

We at Artblog are looking forward to the day when the skied paintings up in the murky reaches of each room will be properly lit and otherwise more accessible.

This morning Roberta, figuratively thumbing her nose, said she hoped the new Barnes would include a new, modern gallery room next to a badly lit period room replica, including the peeling black tape on the floor to demark the safe nose distance to patrons.

Me, I think there’s no need to continue to argument. Let’s get on with business.
