Ask Artblog’s Beth Heinly on answering questions, writing essays and making art

Beth Heinly is a multi-tasking artist par excellence. She is a performer, and a writer -- one of Artblog's "Ask Artblog" columnists. And, of course, she creates the weekly comics series, "The 3:00 Book." Morgan and Roberta caught up with Beth at the Blue Jay Diner recently and asked her how she does it all. The interview is 25:05 minutes long.

Beth Heinly wears a lot of hats. (And sometimes funny noses, eyebrows and glasses.) In addition to being a performance artist (see her this Friday, March 29, 2019, 5 – 8 PM, at Final Fridays at the PMA), her comic, The 3:00 Book, is now in its fifth year of continuous weekly postings on Artblog! Beth’s essays in response to reader questions are rich in opinion and backed up by wide reading and her own experience. Also, follow her short performances on Artblog’s Instagram – hilarious and smart. If you have a question for Beth, email ask@theartblog.org.

Thanks to Morgan Nitz, who recorded and edited this podcast and took the picture of Beth. Thanks to the Blue Jay Diner for allowing us to record this interview in their space. The interview is 25:05 minutes long. ARTBLOG RADIO is now available on Apple (iTunes and Apple Podcasts) and Spotify, and available via RSS.
