Hello readers, I’m sorry to be so awol from the blog these last weeks — it’s been a wicked busy holiday season for me and the family. I’m off to New York again for a few days with Steve. (We were just there Friday). So no postings from me til later in the week. Meanwhile here’s a few pictures from our trip to the Met. More on flickr. xoxo

One of the attractions of the space is its light from the bank of windows overlooking Central Park. Another is the seating — we saw people sleeping here although I wouldn’t recommend it, for fear of rolling into the pool.

Statuary in the American wing.

Cate and I discovered the section of the American wing with the storage vitrines. Miles of American-made stuff, from a spinet piano made in Philadelphia in 1739 to silver and dishes, dollhouses, and, as here, statuary.

It felt a little like shopping at a very amazing boutique.
