Hi, this week there’s a lot of opportunities with Delco Community College having an open call for the annual juried exhibition and Mural Arts seeking designs for tourist experiences in mural painting. Partners and Son is having a release Party for Brian “Box” Brown’s book The He-Man Effect, and Sweet Juice Fest a Philly DIY Music fest is happening at Rigby Mansion on Saturday. There’s a lot to enjoy and opportunities to take hold of right now, wishing you well.

Hi, this week is full of news as Penn Museum workers unite to fight for fair pay and a fair contract. In addition Artlab Editorial Fellows have been announced selecting two writers out of 500 across the world. The Icebox Project Space has an ongoing show titled The Art of Pleasure and Arthur Ross Gallery is soon to open a new group show. Bill Hutson Life and Art Memorial, Philly Celebrates Jazz, African American Museum in Philadelphia has new board members, Melissa Joseph at List Gallery, plus opportunities

Hi, this week we share sad news in the passing of architect Rafael Viñoly, designer of the Kimmel Center. Events happening soon can be found in the memorial to artist Bill Hutson. As well as in Philly Celebrates Jazz, an annual celebration featuring live jazz music, jazz-inspired block parties, jazz poetry events, jazz walking tours, and more. Philadelphia artist Odili Donald Odita opens a solo show, Windows, at Stevenson in Amsterdam. Some interesting gallery shows are soon to open in the form of the List Gallery hosting Conflicting Truths by Melissa Joseph and Automat exhibiting Centennial Rust by Christine McDonald. I hope you’ll find this week fruitful and possibly visit some exhibitions and events.

Black Quantum Futurism gets Creative Capital, Judilee Reed to US Artists, Wayne Thiebaud at Brandywine River Museum of Art, Moe Brooker passes, plus Opportunities and More

With energy and money, the new year charges in. Creative Capital awards $2.5 Million to 50, including Philadelphia’s Black Quantum Futurism (Rasheedah Phillips and Camae Ayewa). William Penn Foundation’s Judilee Reed becomes president and CEO of US Artists. With sadness we note the recent passing of beloved artist and educator, Moe Brooker.
